Hertford Town Council is based at Hertford Castle;a civil wedding venue and rooms to hire. Family events throughout the year. The council is responsible for allotments Hertford Cemetery and the Tourist Information Centre.

Disability Access

Hertford as a Town has done it's utmost to be accessible to residents and visitors with disabilities.

Many shops, restaurants, pubs/bars, attractions and local amenities have made changes to make them easier to access.

Services and Leisure

The Town offers a range of Leisure facilities and local services which are accessible to those with disabilities.

Parking

Hertford has 25 disabled parking bays run by East Herts District Council - these can be found at the following locations.
Bircherley Green Multi Storey 10 Blue Badge spaces
Gascoyne Way Multi Storey 4 Blue Badge spaces
St Andrew Street 5 Blue Badge spaces
Old London Road 2 Blue Badge spaces
Port Vale 1 Blue Badge space
Bull Plain 3 Blue Badge spaces
Parking is free at East Herts District Council car parks if a valid disabled badge displayed.



Transport

Visitors to the town who are travelling by public transport shouldn't worry, public transport is fully accessible for those with a disability.

    Rail
    Hertford East Railway Station- Station access and platforms all on one level.

    Hertford North Railway Station- Station access on one level, lift available to platforms.

    Disabled persons helpline 08457 81 89 19 will advise on disabled facilities throughout your journey and arrange help when necessary (please give at least 48 hours notice if possible).

    Bus
    The bus station is situated at Bircherly Green next to the shopping centre.

    Taxis
    Taxi ranks are situated at Hertford North railway station, Mill Bridge and Railway Street.

Toilets

There are disabled public toilets located at Bircherly Green Bus Station and Hartham Common near the swimming pool.
