Mudlarks

Hertford Town Council supports Mudlarks; an allotment project for people of all abilities, particularly those with a learning disability. They offer horticultural therapy, training and work experience in horticulture, conservation and environmental awareness. With the help of volunteers and staff they have created a valuable community resource; people work together to learn new skills, gain self-confidence and create a sustainable and productive environment.

On site there are a range of activities including organically based horticulture, woodwork crafts and a National Proficiency Skills Test Council (NPTC) education scheme.

Adult Care Services provide funding for many of the trainees. The group also receives funds for particular projects from charitable trusts and foundations, as well as raising money from various social enterprise projects.

Offers of expertise, money or goods are always welcome, so please contact Vic Hobson for further details by emailing vic@mudlarksgarden.org.uk.

Their website is www.mudlarksgarden.org.uk
