Data Collection
First Intervention electronically collects from reinstatement details.

FILIS automatically sorts and allocates jobs to Inspectors using work areas or other identifiers, and downloads data to First Intervention Inspectors handheld computers.

Transmitting Job Lists
Inspectors visit the site, complete data entry onto the handheld computer, and transmit data via modem (or mobile phone GSM/GPRS connection) to the FILIS database. Each site is photographed using digital cameras, and the image transmitted to the FILIS database using a modem connection.

Viewing Inspection Results
Utility Services staff can then log on to FILIS and using the unique reference number, access information regarding the job in question.

Taking Action
If it is confirmed that the job is non-compliant, Utility Services staff can contact the relevant Reinstatement Contractor who returns to site to carry out remedial works.

This process is designed to eliminate the probability of Utility Services sustaining charges of £100 to £2,000 each day per non-compliant reinstatement.
