First Intervention carry out independent inspections of Highway Reinstatements.

With the advent and implementation of Section 74 of the New Roads and Street Works Act, and the associated charges for non-compliance ranging from £100 to £2,000 each day per excavation, coupled with the political pressure to reduce congestion on the highway, the need to reduce Non-compliance is extremely high.

First Intervention have addressed this need using the latest technology. Handheld computers are used to collect inspection data which, along with digital photographs, are transmitted to a website which can be viewed by all interested parties. The system, known as Filis, has replaced a cumbersome paper-based process with considerable success, significantly reducing the time taken to report and rectify defects.
